Responsibilities:
Medical Diagnosis and Treatment: Examine animals to diagnose their health problems. Diagnose and treat animals for all types of illnesses and injuries. Perform medical surgeries as needed.
-Preventative Care: Administer vaccines to prevent common diseases. Conduct routine check-ups to maintain the health of animals.
-Emergency Care: Provide immediate treatment in emergency situations. Be able to make quick and effective decisions under pressure.
-Client Education: Educate animal owners on how to provide the best care for their pets at home, including diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.
-Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all animal care, surgeries, medications, and other treatments.
-Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with veterinary nurses and other support staff to provide top-notch medical care. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health issues and treatments.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited program.
-Licensed to practice in [state/province/country].
-Strong surgical skills and experience with various medical instruments and equipment.
-Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
-Ability to handle emotional or stressful situations effectively; compassion and sensitivity with patients and their owners.
